This selection includes the underground “hand-copied volumes,” the so-called “gray-cover books” and “yellow-cover books” which had restricted distribution and are marked “internal reference only," classics of Western literature, and books by Chinese authors that did not conform to mainstream political ideologies and were condemned as “Big Poisonous Weeds.”
